While Team USA destroyed Brazil on Tuesday night to reach the semi-finals, LeBron James was greeted by the crowd as he joined his bench.
At least that’s what he thought, before Léon Marchand joined the party.
As calm as Team USA. Steve Kerr’s men were serious and diligent on Tuesday night to validate their ticket to the semi-finals against Brazil.
The score? 122-87 for LeBron James and his teammates, who were never in trouble in this game.
Devin Booker, who scored 18 points, finished as the game’s top scorer ahead of Anthony Edwards (17 points).
The confusing situation between LeBron and Leon Marchand
LeBron concludes his performance with 12 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 blocks: a big game for the King, who is clearly on a mission in Paris for these final stages.
He is the first to be satisfied with his performance, to the point where he was cheered by the fans when he joined his bench… or so he thought.
As Dwyane Wade (as commentator) explains, the crowd was actually greeting Léon Marchand.

As we can see in the video, Marchand was indeed present and he was shown on the giant screen, which explains the crowd’s reaction.
James clearly didn’t understand, which led to some mockery on social media.
Rest assured: French fans also really like the King.
He always thinks he’s the main character at all times.
Yeah sorry LeBron for once you weren’t the center of attention
When Leon Marchand comes, we can be sure that the French public will be there to celebrate his presence, especially after his 4 gold medals.
Sorry for LeBron James, even if he already receives a lot of love since his arrival in France.
