Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the WNBA’s 2024 regular season is the ongoing Rookie of the Year Award race.
With each game either rookie plays, they seem to set some new record or find some other way to surpass the other for ROTY pole position.
Yet, only one will end up earning the honor.
And ESPN make it clear on Thursday morning which of them they believe should win the award, should the season end today.

ESPN’s newest rankings have Angel Reese taking the top spot in the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year Award tracker.
Reese surpassed Clark (who holds the #2 spot) since ESPN’s last rankings were released; largely because Reese, “leads by a mile in rebound rate and has been the best active defensive rookie following [Cameron] Brink’s injury”.
In addition, ESPN notes how Reese, “has overseen a 16.6-point improvement in Chicago’s net rating when she’s in the game.”
While this updated ranking is surely going to cause much controversy, there’s still plenty of time for both Reese and Clark to cement their ROTY standing.
