Bayless put Caitlin Clark on blast after the Fever’s latest loss

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever endured a tough 88-69 defeat against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday, marking a challenging evening for the rookie and her team.
Clark, who has been a standout player in her debut WNBA season, managed to score only 13 points in the game, her lowest tally in nearly a month.
The performance prompted a barrage of criticism from sports media personality Skip Bayless, who took to social media to express his disapproval.
In a series of posts on X, Bayless criticized Clark’s playing style and decision-making.
“It amazes me how little Caitlin Clark, greatest college scorer ever, hunts/creates her own shot, how quickly she defers, how unselfish to a fault she is.
She just went 1-7 in the 1st half because in part she wasn’t sure when she shot.
Yes: 6 assists, 6 rebounds. BUT NEED HER TO SCORE,” Bayless wrote.
Bayless did not stop there, adding in a subsequent post, “I’m sorry, but Caitlin Clark sold out another road arena, in Vegas – and once again disappeared in another 4th quarter.
No offensive urgency or energy. Won’t shoot. So many careless turnovers. Something’s not right here.”
Bayless praised Clark’s rivals on the night
He concluded his critique with a harsh comparison to another star guard, Kelsey Plum, stating, “Yet another star guard, Kelsey Plum, just said, ‘Watch this, Caitlin,’ and scored 34 while Caitlin pretty much watched.”
Bayless’s comments reflect a pattern of harsh criticism towards the Fever rookie, highlighting the intense scrutiny Clark faces as she navigates her first season in the WNBA.
Despite the loss and the negative remarks, Clark remains a pivotal player for the Indiana Fever, and her fans hope she will bounce back stronger in upcoming games.
