Angel Reese doesn’t think her transition to the WNBA has been overly difficult.
Reese is now the face of the Chicago Sky after an incredibly successful career at LSU. However, the season has been a bit rough for Reese and the Sky. The team is a very disappointing 4-7 through 11 games. The most notable loss of them all was the nationally televised loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

Angel Reese thinks WNBA transition has been easy.
“I think my transition has been great. It hasn’t been a super, big, huge surprise because Kim Mulkey kind of prepared me for this moment. At LSU, our practices were like four hours. We were ready, we were working, I thought training camp was going to be harder. So, I think I was really prepared. I didn’t have, like, any WNBA surprises yet,” Reese said during an interview with CBS Sports.

There’s just one big problem with Reese’s comments. Her stats don’t seem to back up the claim that the transition to the WNBA has been easy.
She is averaging 12.4 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game. However, her shooting in the WNBA is comically bad.
She’s shooting an abysmal sub-40% from the field. For comparison, she shot 49.8% in 116 college games. It’s kind of hard to claim a transition to the WNBA has been easy when her shooting percentage has cratered.
She shot an absolutely horrible 10-38 through her first three games of the month. Yet, she’s saying with a straight face that her transition to the WNBA has been easy. In what world is that true?

The good news for Reese is that she’s still dominating headlines, despite struggling to shoot well from the field. At the end of the day, that’s all she likely cares about. However, don’t try to convince people the transition to the WNBA has been super easy when shooting from the field appears to be a serious uphill battle.
