Everyone knows Angel Reese as the former LSU star who brought the Tigers a national title two years ago – and as the current Chicago Sky rookie making headline in the WNBA.
But who was she as a player before then? A high school scouting report from ESPN started making the rounds on social media this week showing what at least one analyst thought about her game.
The recruiting profile showed Reese’s growth from an “athletic perimeter prospect” to an “athletic-4 with dominant interior attack.”
Here are her two final recruiting reports before she became a dominant force at LSU:
From ESPN:
Boo Williams Invitational April 2019: Athletic hybrid-4 performer with superior length in the front court; creates off the bounce, exploits mismatches, brings interior footwork with ball fakes to deliver in the paint with efficiency; competes on both ends of the floor; rebounds, handles in transition; a teammate with a competitive edge; a coveted prospect in the 2020 class.
JLE 160-September 2019: Athletic-4 with dominant interior attack complemented by emerging face up game to the arc; skilled in the block, footwork and feathery touch yield consistent results; a mismatch producer, intense competitor; an impact prospect in the class of 2020.
Reese was the No. 2 overall recruit in the class and the Baltimore native decided to stay local by playing for Maryland.
She eventually transferred to LSU to play under coach Kim Mulkey and won a national title in her first season with the Tigers.
