Former NFL star Dez Bryant didn’t have to wait long for a response after taking aim at ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe on social media.

Bryant accused both Smith and Sharpe of not praising Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese enough for her incredible rookie season.

“Where ya’ll at? She deserves high praise right now,” Bryant demanded, following Reese’s 25-point performance in the Sky’s 88-87 win over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Sunday.

Smith pushed back on Bryant’s comments and even accused him of lying.

“Man, for once, will you stop your B.S. @ShannonSharpe has praised her continuously. So have I, even profiling her excellence on numerous occasions. It’s on our social media pages @stephenasmith. We’ve talked about her on @FirstTake,” Smith posted on X.

There is no question that Reese deserved her praise after the performance she had against the Fever. She finished the game with a double-double with 16 rebounds on top of her career-high total in points to end the Fever’s four-game winning streak.

Both Smith and Sharpe have covered the WNBA star extensively, but Bryant feels not enough of the spotlight is being put on Reese. Whether that’s actually the case or not is all a matter of opinion.

Smith did offer Bryant an invite on “First Take” if he wanted to debate on the topic. It would be the perfect way for both sides to clear the air without the back-and-forth bickering over social media.
