Britain’s Got Talent hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly stepped in tonight when one act made a political statement.

The ITV show was back for its fifth semi-final tonight, which has so far seen performances from a pair of juggling brothers, a magic act and a singer who performed his original song about the weekend. The Dark Hero also appeared tonight, where he sang the song Let It Go from hit musical Frozen whilst extended over a fake Gotham City.

His performance was well received by the judges, who loved his song and joked how wild it was. Amanda even commented that Elsa would have loved it too, and joked that the kingdom in Frozen wasn’t that far from Batman’s home too.

However, at the end of his act, he was asked to make another comment. He used that moment to send his love to the people of the Ukraine, before the camera quickly cut back to Ant and Dec, who said thank you and his exit music played.

The ITV show is live, but another act made an awkward blunder this evening when they seemed to confirm that Alesha Dixon’s performance, which will air later tonight on the ITV talent show, was pre-recorded. As Trixy he performed, he went to chat to the judges including Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Bruno Tonioli and Alesha.

When he chatted to Alesha, he congratulated her on her performance – but at the time, viewers had yet to see it, which seemingly confirmed she had pre-recorded her performance. He looked awkward, as did Alesha, but they continued on with the trick and his performance was wildly praised by the rest of the judges, including Alesha.

Just yesterday, one act received boos as they returned to the stage. During Thursday’s live semi-final, within moments of the show starting, Ant and Dec were interrupted on stage by none other than Bobby Goldfinn. It wasn’t long until Bobby Goldfinn started reciting his jokes again to which the audience started booing and the judges’ red crosses went off.

Ant and Dec then guided Bobby Goldfinn off stage to which they pointed out: “It’s not the auditions, it’s the semi-finals! Bobby Goldfinn everybody!” Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to react as they demanded Bobby Goldfinn win the show. One person said: “I would like Bobby Goldfin to win please #BGT #BritainsGotTalent”, a different account put: “BOBBY GOLDFIN YOU ARE MY WINNER #BGT” while another added: ” We need more Bobby goldfinn! #BGT #bobbygoldfinn #BritainsGotTalent.”
