Former This Morning hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes are living separately as they start divorce proceedings after 10 years of marriage.
Ruth Langsford previously opened up about the clash of differences she and Eamonn Holmes had in their marital home, before they found a “middle ground”. Prior to announcing their split in May, the pair resided together in a £3.2million mansion in Surrey, along with their 22-year-old son Jack and pet dog Maggie.
Last year, Ruth, 64, revealed that the couple had to make compromises when moving in together as they had very different tastes. She shared: “When I first met Eamonn, I was more into older houses while he liked new-builds.
“With our home in Surrey, we found our middle ground. Although we were the first people to live here and everything was shiny and new, it looks traditional on the outside.”
Ruth also shared that Eamonn had encouraged her to step out of her comfort zone when it came to decorating the property and adding more colour. “My walls are orange and red,” she told House Beautiful Magazine.
“Eamonn’s into colour and he’s pulled me out of my comfort zone. We’ve recently redone our hall and taken inspiration from a painting by the Irish artist Terry Bradley.” The Loose Women star also disclosed that she had issues with Eamonn’s tendency to hoard his belongings.

Ruth believes her preference for minimalism comes from her childhood when her home environment was constantly changing due to her father’s army career.
The mother-of-one explained: “We’d turn up at a very bland army-quarters house and once my mum had dressed it with our stuff, it felt like home.
“It’s probably why I don’t like clutter, unlike Eamonn who is a hoarder.”
She added: “He keeps all his Manchester United match programmes. I’m sentimental about people and memories, but not about stuff or houses. Wherever I lay my hat, that’s my home.”
The television duo exchanged vows back in 2010 at the Elvetham Hall in Hampshire after being together for 13 years.
They have a son, Jack, who is currently studying at university away from the family residence, while Eamonn also has three older children from a previous marriage.
In a surprising turn of events, the couple announced their separation in May and are currently in proceedings for a divorce.
Post-split, it’s understood that Ruth has stayed in the family home with their dog Maggie, while Eamonn has moved into a flat in South West London.
While Ruth has not publicly commented on their separation, Eamonn expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support they received.
Speaking on GB News with Isabel Webster just days after the news was announced, he said: “Before we move on, I would just like to thank people for their support for Ruth and I over the past few days.
“Your support, from both of us, is very much appreciated.”
