Caitlin Clark is a college-level athlete who has taken the basketball world by storm. Ever since she made her Iowa debut, everyone has wondered if she is going to the WNBA. Recently, in a surprising turn of events, Clark officially declared for the 2024 draft which has sent waves of excitement through the community. After a sensational season, fans are excited to witness Clark’s exceptional performance on the league’s court.

The 22-year-old took to her ‘X’ (Formerly known as Twitter) account to make this announcement. She posted a graphic image, in which, she wrote “While this season is far from over, and we have a lot more goals to achieve, it will be my last one at Iowa.” Furthermore, Clark expressed her excitement about entering the WNBA Draft 2024 as well as her gratitude for the underlying support she has received during her Iowa journey.

In addition to this, Clark did not forget to mention her family which includes her parents and siblings. “Most importantly, none of this would have been possible without my family and friends who have been by my side through it all,” she wrote. The Iowa star ended this heartfelt post by mentioning how because of her loved ones, her dreams have come true.

Notably, Clark started playing basketball around the mere age of 4 years old and was considered one of the top players even when she was graduating from high school. She joined the University of Iowa in 2020 and changed the landscape of the university by taking it to greater heights. Clark has been a part of the basketball team for four years and has recently decided to forgo her extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Just a couple of weeks ago, she broke Kelsey Plum’s NCAA scoring record and recently took another step closer to NCAA loyalty as she stands 18 points away from beating Pete Maravich’s NCAA All-Time Scoring record.

During her senior and last season at Iowa, Clark is averaging 32.2 points, 7.4 total rebounds, and 8.7. So far, she has played 29 games and has been the main reason behind regular sold-out tickets to the arena. Notably, her final home game in Carver-Hawkeye Arena has already led to breaking the record for the highest ticket price for the non-general-admission ticket in the history of women’s basketball.
