This Morning is set to undergo a huge shake-up as Dermot O’Leary has pulled out of presenting alongside Alison Hammond on their usual Friday slot.

The 51 year old presenter who takes over from Ben Shepherd and Cat Deeley every Friday, will now be replaced by Josie Gibson on tomorrow’s show [14 June]. Alison and Dermot’s chemistry on screen is clear for all to see.

But it seems ITV may have to pull out all the stops to maintain the dynamic duo, as it’s emerged that the BBC are trying to poach her. The broadcaster has reportedly offered the star, who has become a fan-favourite since joining the daytime show in 2002, her own travel show.

And it has also been speculated that it could air the same time as This Morning. The BBC have already secured Alison for a celebrity interview series titled Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend, where she spends 48 hours with a well known face, to get an insight into their world. According to reports, the travel show is the perfect job for the 49 year old mum of one, as she used to work as a holiday rep before joining Big Brother back in 2002.

A TV insider told The Sun: “This is a continuing nightmare for ITV as Alison is seen by them as one of their biggest stars — but she’s increasingly working for their rivals. The travel show is the latest tempting offer she’s taken up with BBC execs revelling in the fact they can put it head-to-head with This Morning.” They added: “It could lead to the situation where Alison can be seen hosting the daytime magazine show on ITV while simultaneously being seen over on BBC One.” The travel show is called Florida Unpacked and it’s set to focus on the US Sunshine State but another series could take Alison to another part of the world.

Filming is due to start next month and continue throughout September. It’s expected to air next year. Alongside This Morning, the sought after star also hosts For The Love Of Dogs and Great British Bake Off.

But aside from her successful career, her life away from the cameras has come under the spotlight as it’s believed she has split with her toyboy boyfriend. Earlier this month, fans believed the presenter had hinted that she had split from David Putnam, following a cryptic message on social media.

The couple’s romance became the subject of discussion due to their 20 year age gap but they seemed to be going from strength to strength – until now that is. It has been noticed that the pair have been spending more and more time apart from each other. And last month, their seemingly strained relationship became more apparent as he celebrated his birthday in Lake Como, Italy, without the TV presenter.

Trying to get to the bottom of things fans asked Alison in a social media Q&A, a number of questions about her life, but the star remained tight-lipped. One person asked her if she was happy and she shyly replied: “Happiness comes from within.”
