Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s antics have been labelled a “clown show” by a Royal expert, who suggests they’ve left the monarchy in a precarious position.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have consistently made headlines since their dramatic departure from Royal duties and subsequent move to the US in 2020, as reported by the Express.

Their relationship with the Royal Family has become increasingly strained, particularly following the release of their Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, and Harry’s memoir, Spare.

Journalist and author Tina Brown now suggests that the future of the monarchy “hangs by a thread”, with Catherine, the Princess of Wales, being the saving grace after the exit of the “whole Sussex clown show”.

Speaking on Times Radio, she said: “The monarchy hangs by a thread and that thread is Catherine. Because she is the most beloved of the next generation. And with the departure of Harry and the whole kind of Sussex clown show, the Waleses are it.”

Harry and Meghan have also released a defiant statement in the wake of their Nigeria tour after leaving the country on May 12. Despite being short, it has been said to have had many similarities to a royal tour. The couple subsequently said afterwards that ti would be the, “first of many memorable trips”.

“The Duke and Duchess would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the event organizers, military officials and the whole Nigerian community for their tremendous hospitality and the first of many memorable trips,” they wrote.
