Prince Harry is continuing to keep a low public profile, attending an event in honour of his late mother, Princess Diana.

The Duke of Sussex made an under-the-radar appearance at a charity event for Sentebale, an organisation supporting young people in Southern Africa. He attended the panel on Thursday night in Miami Beach without his wife Meghan Markle.

News of Harry’s arrival wasn’t shared publicly until the next day, on Friday afternoon. Speaking at the get-together, the Duke said: “Africa’s in my heart, Africa’s in my soul. I first went there when I was 12… 13 years old, and after so many years I wanted to give back to it because it had given me so much,” he told the attendees while on-stage.

“The vast open space, the cultures, the communities, the people, the wildlife, just the freedom was a huge piece of why I loved Africa so much.” Harry went on to speak about his mother’s charity efforts, adding: “My mother had a strong focus on HIV and AIDS but also of the younger generation because it’s their futures that are being stolen from them.

“And at the heart of Sentebale, what we’ve always believed is that every single young person should have a chance at a better future,” he explained. It comes ahead of his appearance at a charity polo match on Friday alongside longtime pal Nacho Figueras.

Earlier this week, Harry left fans disappointed when he failed to appear on a livestream life coaching summit. The Duke had been listed as a speaker at an event held by life coaching firm BetterUp who he serves as chief impact officer for.

Specific details of Harry’s attendance weren’t given and fans subsequently only found out about his session where he spoke on managing “the pressures of today’s world and modern corporate life” in a post on his website Sussex.com.

He spoke on a panel at the San Francisco-based event and was joined by Dr Adam Grant, BetterUp’s chairman of the Center for Purpose and Performance, and Kelly Jones, who is tech firm Cisco’s chief people officer.

As well as his appearance at the event, Harry was also snapped alongside actress Mindy Kaling. The image, shared on his and Meghan’s Sussex website shared the pair smiling as they embraced. Mindy, star of The Mindy Kaling Show, had previously appeared on Meghan’s axed Spotify podcast, Archetypes. Harry appeared in his usual smart-casual attire, wearing a grey suit jacket, open with a plain white shirt and dark jeans.

During his session, titled Beyond Burnout: Transforming C-Level Stress Into Strength, Harry helped to examine how business leaders can best manage unique stress situations. According to the Sussex website, the session examined “how C-level leaders manage the unique pressure of their roles, build resilience, and foster a culture that supports sustainable performance”.

It continued to say Harry and his fellow panellists dove into the “psychological toll of leading through uncertainty” and explained how they shared their own personal stories as well as evidence-based practices and forward thinking policies. It’s said the actions were aimed at helping leaders to thrive under the current pressures they may face.
