Brittney Griner, the longtime WNBA star, is set to represent the United States at the Summer Olympics in Paris, France, along with 11 of the league’s other top players.

Caitlin Clark, infamously, is not part of that group.

But while everyone is debating whether or not Clark should’ve made the roster, Griner had the best take on the matter. She made it clear that the United States women’s basketball selection committee has an incredibly tough job.

“I don’t want to be on that committee. That’s what I’ve always said. It’s a hard committee, there’s so many times each year on who is on the team and who isn’t on the team. It’s tough. I think anybody that’s on this team, can go, can win, but we’ll see in the fture how it goes,” Grinet told reporters this week.

And while most of the sports world expressed their frustration with the decision, Clark handled it with supreme class.

“I’m excited for the girls that are on the team,” she said. “I’m excited for them, going to be rooting them on to win gold. I was a kid who grew up watching the Olympics and it’ll be fun watching.”

She added: “Honestly, no disappointment. It just gives me something to work for.”
