Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin met for the second time this season as opponents in the WNBA. From being teammates and best friends at Iowa to competing friends in the WNBA, it has been a great journey for both Clark and Martin. On Tuesday, old friends faced off for the second time this WNBA season.

Before the game, both former teammates, now in different jerseys, were pictured coming out of the tunnel to take the court. Clark took to her social media profile to post the picture on her Instagram story. Clark was seen in Indiana Fever’s white jersey and Martin was seen in the red Las Vegas Aces jersey.

Kate Martin and Caitlin Clark unite for young Iowa fan

Bailey Lux is a 14-year-old die-hard fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and has a very special relationship with the players, especially Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin.

Earlier on Tuesday, before the game, Clark was going around and asking her teammates if they had signed a basketball which was to be given to Bailey.

Later on, she was seen posing for a picture while being surrounded by Fever players. Bailey later attended the game between the Aces and the Fever at T-Mobile Arena and met former Hawkeyes players Megan Gustafson, Martin and Clark.

Lux is dealing with a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor and met with the Hawkeyes player when she was in Iowa for her treatment. Since then, she has been talking to Kate Martin. Lux was cancer-free after the initial treatment but it came back again this March.

According to Indy Star, when Bailey told Martin that the family had decided to stop the chemotherapy because it wasn’t working, she was devastated. Make-a-Wish was able to fly her to the Aces vs Fever game where she reunited with the former Hawkeyes players.
