Brothers Travis and Jason Kelce honored with bobblehead giveaway at Cavs game

CLEVELAND (AP) – Taylor Swift’s boyfriend has taken shaking it off to another level.

Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end who began dating the pop music superstar during this past season, will be honored Tuesday night with a bobblehead giveaway when the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Boston Celtics.

The collectible is a tiny version of Kelce and his older brother, Jason, who officially retired from the Philadelphia Eagles after 13 seasons on Monday. The brothers are Cleveland natives and have long supported their hometown Cavs, who are in turn paying tribute to the local football stars.

The miniature Kelces are decked out in blue Cavs jerseys – Travis in his familiar No. 87, Jason in No. 62 – not bare-chested like he was while attending his brother’s recent playoff game in snowy Buffalo.

A Cavs spokesperson is expecting at least one of the Kelce brothers to attend Tuesday’s game.

Swift, who became a fixture at Chiefs games and was in Las Vegas to see their Super Bowl win over San Francisco last month, is currently on tour overseas. The hit song “Shake It Off” is a staple in her setlist.

Travis Kelce, who played basketball in high school, has vehemently supported all three Cleveland pro sports teams and once dreamed of playing for the Browns. Last year, he threw a memorable first pitch before a Guardians game, uncorking a wild toss and that bounced to the backstop.

Beyond their football exploits, the Kelce brothers have gained popularity through hosting their “New Heights” podcast on which they discuss a wide-range of topics.

Travis and Jason Kelce were reunited in Philadelphia last week and the brothers took time out to attend a local fundraiser together on Sunday.

The brothers, currently enjoying their time off from football, stopped by a family’s event as they raised money for cancer survivors.

The event was held in honor of Brendan McDermott, a loved one who died at the age of 38 after losing his battle with colorectal cancer.

‘i’ll just leave this here. these two are awesome. i know brendan is smiling down right now. some legends wearing #teamrectify hats,’ McDermott’s in-law Jess Viola posted on Instagram.

It comes as Jason prepares to announce his decision on his potential retirement in a press conference on Monday afternoon.

Speculation has been rife that Kelce will retire this offseason after reports emerged in January that he’d told his Philadelphia Eagles teammates he was walking away.

Kelce has refused to give a definitive decision so far, instead supporting his brother and the Kansas City Chiefs as they eventually won the Super Bowl in Las Vegas last month.

Travis, meanwhile, is in Philadelphia to catch up with his brother and will no doubt be by his side when he makes the decision on Monday.

He was spotted getting a new haircut in Philadelphia while girlfriend Taylor Swift continues to perform in front of sold-out crowds in Singapore.

While he was in town, he made sure to make a quick stop by the shop of celebrity barber Willis Orengo, who shared a photo of the two later on Instagram.

‘Not 1️⃣ Not 2️⃣ but 3️⃣ ❎ Super Bowl Champion !!! When Travis is tired of his own haircut he gets the @jvalanciunas!!!,’ Orengo wrote as a caption to his post, referring to the New Orleans Pelicans’ starting center, who many have pointed out as Kelce’s doppelganger.

Earlier, Orengo had shared a photo taken by his fiancée on his Instagram, revealing that they were traveling to Pennsylvania‘s largest city.

‘Little drive to Philly last night with @willsthebarber,’ she wrote on an image of what appeared to be the same room where Orengo and Kelce posed for a picture together. A GIF of the Chiefs tight end dancing was added to the post, too.

Kelce’s new hairdo comes in between three consecutive concerts in Singapore for Swift, as she continues to travel around the world for her record-breaking ‘Eras’ Tour.

The popstar performed at the island country’s National Stadium for the first time on Saturday. Other than on Monday, she will perform at the same venue again on March 7, 8, and 9.
