Reese is getting better and better

Angel Reese's cocky comment about the WNBA as she continues to light up the Sky

Expectations were high for Angel Reese when she entered the 2024 WNBA Draft, but many fans and analysts conceded that it would take some time for her to develop a well-rounded game.

Many believed Reese would need a patient coach in a low-pressure environment to help her reach the potential she showed so often at LSU.

But Reese is arriving ahead of schedule in pro basketball.

Her Chicago Sky are in the eighth and final playoff spot with one-fourth of the season played, and her performances are getting better and better — because, as she explained recently, she felt highly-prepared to play professionally after her NCAA career with LSU and Maryland.

Reese reveals that training camp was easy for her

Earlier this week, Reese spoke to the media and explained how she has been able to hit the ground running in the WNBA for a Sky team that is challenging for the playoffs.

She credited LSU coach Kim Mulkey‘s intensive practices — which could run for four hours a day — as the best preparation possible for the pros.

I thought training camp was going to be harder,” Reese said.

Reese’s comments come across as surprising and even cocky, but she is backing up the talk by walking the walk.

Reese has instantly become one of the WNBA’s top rebounders — especially on the offensive glass — and set a new career high with 20 points against the league-leading Connecticut Sun on Wednesday night, going from strength to strength as she carves out her place in the W.
