LeBron James and Jerry West

While franchises and players have multiplied vibrant tributes for the legend Jerry West, the Lakers have been content with the bare minimum when honoring the memory of the Logo. And it doesn’t go over well with the fans.

A legend passed away this Wednesday in the NBA. Jerry West sadly passed away, sparking numerous messages across media and social networks, including from Michael Jordan .

Many shared a heartwarming tribute to thank him for his impact, while others shared some anecdotes about the Lakers legend.

The Lakers destroyed after their message

LeBron James also quickly released some messages on his Twitter account, just like the Warriors, Clippers and many other teams.

We are talking about long press releases, paying homage to the NBA Logo, which marked an entire generation.

The Angelinos spoke several hours later, with a relatively short message.

“Jerry West will forever be a basketball icon. He brought Lakers fans their first championship in Los Angeles in 1972 and was an integral part of six other titles during his time with us.

Our hearts go out to the West family and the many NBA fans who were able to honor his legend. Jerry West will forever be a Lakers legend. »

Besides the fact that the message is short, doing little justice to West’s immense career, many did not like the delay in releasing such a press release.

When players and franchises posted a message within an hour of the announcement, the Lakers waited twice.

Pathetic.

Probably the most influential person in Lakers history, two sentences.

The Lakers did not handle this story in the best way, like the management of the organization in recent years. Many fans are now calling for the departure of Jeanie Buss.
