Unstoppable in recent weeks, Victor Wembanyama has logically just been named rookie of the month for February, far ahead of the competition. The supporters are obviously delighted.

While the Spurs have just won two victories, Victor Wembanyama has just received another piece of very good news: he has just been named rookie of the month for February. Chet Holmgren won those in November and December, while the Frenchman won the one in January. They are therefore tied, although Victor took a clear lead today.

With some crazy performances, including a 5×5 very recently, Wembanyama has established himself as the big favorite to win the trophy at the end of the season. Note, however, that there will be a significant difference: while the NBA decides on the awards during the campaign, it is the journalists who will vote for the one at the end of the season.

With 21.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.9 blocks per game during the month of February, Wemby’s reward is not up for debate. He largely dominated the matches, including his duel last week against Chet Holmgren. There is almost no doubt that Wembanyama will be named rookie of the year in a few months if he continues this way.
