The young French NBA player Victor Wembanyama, here accompanied by the flag of France
NBA

With the emergence of Victor Wembanyama and other French talents in the basketball sphere, we can only think that the future looks bright for the Blues. So much so that the Americans are already starting to fear the future French team.

By being selected as the 1st pick in the 2023 Draft, Victor Wembanyama set a record for a Frenchman. A record which could, however, quickly be equaled by one of his compatriots, as the tricolor breeding ground proves to be extensive. There should indeed be many other products from France to join the ranks of the league in the coming years, but also to fill those of the French team.

Currently, it is the Spurs rookie who is the center of attention thanks to his historic performances. But he is not the only one to arouse the curiosity of followers, because the names of prospects such as Alexandre Sarr or Zaccharie Risacher are also starting to resonate internationally. Faced with such a reservoir of talent, many Americans are impressed.

The future French team led by Wembanyama is already frightening the US

The French men’s team is going to be so absurd in the future – here are the players who have just arrived in the NBA or who will arrive there in the next two years.

Drafted last summer in the NBA, like Wemby, Bilal Coulibaly and Rayan Rupert obviously don’t make as much noise. However, their high potential allows them to dream of a great future. It could also sooner or later open the doors to the French team, which they have already had the honor of representing among the U18s, and allow them to find other equally promising young French talents there.

Journalist Danny Marang does not forget to mention the French talents destined to join the league in the future such as Sarr, Risacher, Tidjane Salaün and Noa Essengue. They all feature more (very) large sizes which appear to be a significant asset in today’s basketball. It was enough for Internet users to share their amazement and think big for the future Blues:

We can easily imagine them winning a gold medal soon.

In the wake of Victor Wembanyama, the new golden generation of French basketball has undoubtedly not finished taking the NBA by storm. A conquest which risks doing business for the French team, increasingly feared across the Atlantic.
