Victor Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs’ No. 1 NBA draft pick, made a surprise appearance at the Blue Star Arts Complex in Southtown.
San Antonio residents shared pictures on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) of Wembanyama interacting with fans at the popular gallery and entertainment venue.
The Blue Star Arts Complex also posted about Wembanyama’s visit, mentioning that he explored various spots around the complex, including Brick and Mockingbird Handprints.
The unexpected appearance delighted fans and added a cultural touch to the basketball phenom’s time in San Antonio.
Some X users humorously commented on a photo, suggesting that the angle made it look like Wembanyama had only one leg, sparking lighthearted banter among the online community.
Wembanyama had largely kept a low profile since his notable performance in the NBA Summer League, where he showcased his skills with 27 points and 12 rebounds against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The French basketball star had previously mentioned his intention to avoid media attention for some time.
