Less than a week ago, Stephen Curry left the game against Chicago Bulls due to an ankle injury. While there were no immediate updates, head coach Steve Kerr shared that Steph has been diligently applying ice in the locker room. As fans had their fingers crossed, an MRI revealed no significant damage, with his return marked on his comfort. With that, Steph is anticipated to continue Warriors playoff push.
In an update, Steph chose to buoy the spirits of the fans ahead of the good news. In a recent Instagram story, Curry posted a photo of himself actively icing his right ankle, quipping it, “We working….”
Stephen Curry is slated to be re-evaluated tomorrow, with hopes of a deadline on his return coming after. The Warriors sniper suffered the injury while catching a pass inside the arc, rolling his ankle in the process. He was in immediate pain, limping and making his way out of the court.
he Warriors suffered a narrow defeat against Chicago, 125-122. Moreover, they also fell in the first leg of a back-to-back against the San Antonio Spurs, as the Texas team played without Victor Wembanyama. However, in today’s rematch, Kerr has reinstated Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins into a starting role, hoping for a merry turnaround. However, the team will have to deal with the 7’4 towering center on the opposing team this time around.
Despite the revenge victory against the San Antonio Spurs tonight, Steve Kerr did provide Dubs fans with some bad news. In the post-game press conference, Steve Kerr, when asked about Curry’s availability for their game against the Mavericks, said he didn’t expect the talismanic point guard to play against Dallas.
"I don't expect him to play in Dallas."

But it isn’t all doom and gloom. Kerr’s exact words were “We’ll reassess tomorrow”. So on the slight chance that Curry’s ankle shows visible signs of improvement, he could suit up against Doncic and the Mavs come Wednesday.
The Dubs need to start winning without Stephen Curry
The Warriors have a tough schedule ahead of them. After facing Wembanyama, they will face Luka Doncic alongside the Dallas Mavericks, before the Los Angeles Lakers. While Curry can join the team in the middle of the action, the Warriors cannot deplete their standing in his absence. Despite their low ranking, the squad sits higher than the Spurs on the conference table. Moreover, they were favored to win the matchup even without Curry. With that, the team needs to come together to be opportunistic and capitalize on each win.
The Warriors edged past the Lakers for a 9th spot earlier but their recent set of losses has sank them back to the 10th spot. What was once seen as a potential playoff spot out of regulation is yet again a play-in battle.
Even though they significantly separated with the 11th seeded Houston, the Warriors need to aim for a higher conference berth. This, in turn, would enable them to remain efficient and take the pressure off an struggling season. With that, they can enter the playoffs with proper rest and higher chances of marking a deep run.
