Stephen Curry Says He Would ‘Maybe’ Run For President One Day: ‘I Have An Interest In Leveraging Every Part Of My Influence For Good’

Stephen Curry might be going from the NBA to the Oval Office.

In a recent interview with CBS News’ Jericka Duncan, Golden State Warriors star player, Stephen Curry hinted that he would consider running for President in the future.

Jericka Duncan asked:

“Steph Curry for President? Yay? Nay? Maybe?”

The NBA star responded:

“Maybe.”

In a follow-up question, she inquired:

“Do you have an interest in politics?”

Stephen Curry replied:

“I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can.”

He continued:

“So if that’s the way to do it – I’m not saying the presidency … but if politics is the way that you can create meaningful change, or if there’s another way outside of politics that we can do.”

Jericka Duncan asked:

“You’re not ruling it out?”

Curry said:

“No.”

However, when the news reporter then inquired about a 2028 presidential run for the pro athlete, he swiftly stated:

“Not that soon.”

Although basketball remains Curry’s main priority, he has been actively engaged off the court with his production company and various ventures.

This includes his recent release of a children’s book titled ‘I Am Extraordinary’, which debuted on Tuesday (March 12).

The story follows the life of a young girl named Zoe who experiences hearing loss.

Per the synopsis, the book aims to teach children “about what it means to be different—and what it means to be extraordinary.”

Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry are also gearing up for another little one in their home as Ayesha Curry recently revealed she’s pregnant with her and Stephen’s fourth child.
