Warriors’ Stephen Curry: Questionable for Sunday

Curry is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Celtics due to left knee bursitis.

Curry hasn’t missed a game since Jan. 13 and is averaging 29.0 points and 5.5 assists per game since then. Andrew Wiggins (personal) remains away from the team and Brandin Podziemski (knee) is questionable, so Chris Paul, Klay Thompson and Moses Moody would be in line for increased roles again if Curry and Podziemski are ruled out.

The Warriors have been one of the hotter teams in the league, but they now take on the league’s best team in the Celtics. Not only that, the C’s have been amazing in their own right as they’re on a 10-game winning streak while owning a 47-12 record. The teams meet up at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at TD Garden.

Golden State could be without its star with Stephen Curry listed as questionable with right knee bursitis. Andrew Wiggins (personal reasons) is out while Brandin Podziemski (right knee inflammation) is questionable. The big name is Curry, who continues to put up huge numbers while leading the Warriors.

The Warriors have gone 13-3 in their last 16 games as they’re now 32-27 on the season. Even with the improved play, they haven’t been able to climb up the West standings much. They’re still ninth in a bunched-up West with 23 games left on the season.

On the other side, the Celtics have impressed all season. Big man Kristaps Porzingis is listed as questionable on the injury report with a left quad contusion. That’s notable as Porzingis continues to impress with his new team. He also missed the first showdown between C’s vs. Warriors in December.
