Travis Kelce had a thoughtful answer when asked about the newfound attention on him and the Chiefs amid his rumored romance with Taylor Swift during a team media availability on Friday.
Kelce, 33, began by telling reporters he’s thrilled with the Chiefs’ three consecutive wins and is focused on “trying to get to four in a row” on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
The NFL star added, “As all the attention comes…it feels like I was on top of the world after the Super Bowl and right now I’m even more on top of the world.”
Kelce understands the territory that comes with Swift’s level of fame, however. “At the same time, it comes with it. It comes with it. You’ve got a lot of people that care about Taylor, and for good reason.”
Going forward, the NFL star said he’s “just got to keep living and learning and enjoying the moments” as he and Swift enjoy getting to know one another on a public stage.
Kelce also assured reporters that the possible romance with Swift won’t become a distraction for him during the NFL season. “At the end of the day, I’ve always been pretty good about compartmentalizing and being able to stay focused in this building, so I’ll just keep rolling with that,” he said.
After the “Bejeweled” singer attended her second Chiefs game on Oct. 1, the NFL star addressed the public attention on him and Swift during an episode of his weekly podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.
Taylor Swift predicted her relationship with Travis Kelce in resurfaced 2009 interview
Taylor Swift seemingly predicted her romance with NFL star Travis Kelce back in 2009 as she discussed what her dream man would be like – and he seems very close to Travis
Taylor Swift might have seen her romance with Travis Kelce coming as far back as 2009.
In a resurfaced interview, the Blank Space singer describes her dream man, and it seems as though she’s describing the NFL star as she lists attributes like “confidence” and “ambition” when asked she she needs to date someone on the same level of success as her.
Taylor said in the interview: “It’s more a question of confidence. I wouldn’t want to be with a pushover who would let me make all the plans and have all the control.”

“It’s really natural for me to go into planning mode, but I’d rather be with someone who has his own voice and passion and ambition,” she added before envisioning herself in a long-distance relationship where she’d be “flying to see him and flying him places to see [her].”
“It feels like it would involve more scheduling, and I already deal with a lot of scheduling in my life,” Taylor continued. “Of course, if I met somebody who was worth it, I would probably stop thinking that way!”
Travis seems to tick all of the boxes of the dream man she described almost two decades ago, as a successful athlete who exudes confidence and is more than happy to fly out to meet Taylor in New York or while she’s on tour in South America. Similarly, the singer has made her journey to Kansas City several times to watch him in his games.

The couple began dating in September, and since then, the pair have been seen together often, with some fans even thinking he declared his love for her on New Year’s Eve. Prior to dating Travis, Taylor was loved up with actor Joe Alwyn for six years before they split in April 2023.
As Taylor’s career goes from “strength to strength” with her tour bring in millions, so does her love life it seems. Psychic Sally Morgan told Closer magazine: “I think she’ll marry Travis this year. They’re so in love, they have a healthy relationship and there’s endless trust both ways. As soon as they get married, we’ll hear about a pregnancy, possibly before the year is out.”
