Patrick Mahomes is sharing more details about his upcoming restaurant with Travis Kelce.

While at a press conference for the 101 Awards on Friday (where he accepted a Derrick Thomas Award), Mahomes opened up about his vision for the steakhouse, 1587 Prime. He said the Chiefs home city is the perfect backdrop for their first culinary project.

“Me and Travis have been working on that for awhile. We’re always together. We’re always at these restaurants, and we have a love for bringing people together,” he said in a video shared by Fox 4 Kansas City. “We’re going to do whatever we can to continue to bring people together and what better place than Kansas City.”

One reporter quipped it would be a “$15 menu, right?” prompting Mahomes to agree that they want the restaurant to be affordable.

“I’m sure there will be some things on there that will be $15,” he revealed. “All honesty though, we thought about that and we don’t want to make it too upscale, too high-priced that not everybody can go.”

He added: “So we’re going to make it a place where hopefully Kansas City can call it home, and that everybody can be there and really enjoy it.”

And it’s not just for patrons to enjoy – the star quarterback wants to celebrate post NFL games at the joint.

“Hopefully we can win some games at Arrowhead Stadium and then we can get to go over and have a few drinks and food with it,” he said.

The dad of two also teased what food offerings would make the menu.

“I’ve already seen the menu…a few of my favorites. Ketchup will be there,” he said with a laugh, referencing his well-known love of the condiment.

Earlier this month, Mahomes and Kelce announced that they are opening 1587 Prime together. (The name is a combination of both of their jersey numbers.)

The spot will be inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel, and global hospitality group, Noble 33, is partnering with the athletes to bring it to life.

With an opening set for early 2025, the large modern steakhouse will take up 10,000 square feet and span two floors. Additionally, it will have many private dining rooms and food items and decor that tie in “hyper-subtle nods” to Mahomes’s and Kelce’s football accolades, per a release.

“We’re excited to be a part of this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience, and what better place to start than our very own Kansas City,” Kelce said in a statement at the time.
