The Love Island cast are left in floods of tears in Friday’s episode after a brutal twist is sprung on them by producers just days away from the final
Love Island is often rebuffed as a holiday jaunt for its stars, but the show’s creators aren’t making it easy for some of the cast – tonight offers no respite as a harsh twist is unleashed on the remaining contestants.
As darkness descends in the villa during this eve’s episode, Ciaran receives a text, his shock response: “No way”. He shares it with the gathered Islanders, leaving one lad to comfort his partner.
The ominous dispatch from Love Island’s producers declares: “Islanders, tonight each couple must vote for the two couples who they think are least compatible, those who receive a vote risk being dumped from the Island. You must now discuss in your couples who you’re going to choose and then submit your decision by text. You must not discuss your decision with anyone else.”
The burden of choice lies heavily on one lass, consoled by her partner who reassures: “Don’t get upset, it’s all right.”, reports OK!. Her retort: “I can’t even look them in the eye after voting for them.”
ITV has yet to unveil the identity of the distressed girl; such scenes will unravel tonight when Love Island reprises at 9pm. However, before this sombre note, there are cheerier moments; as Love Island Sports Day rolls around – with Joey hoping to mend fences with Mimii, offering her a bouquet he purchased during a brief break where the boys were permitted to leave the villa for a shop visit.

He tells her: “Joey says: “I got you these…I really wanted to do a kind gesture. I want you to know that I am sorry and I don’t want mine or your friendship to end or be sour because I do care about your feelings and I do want you to know that the whole situation is done.”.
Mimii is taken aback – but will she accept the floral apology? Elsewhere, the Islanders reflect on what the future holds. Nicole says to Jessy, Mimii and Jess: “He has proved, not all rugby boys are the same, I love him.”
Jessy informs the girls: “We all knew where we stood anyway but we made it exclusive” elsewhere in the garden Joey tells Sean: “I ain’t found someone like this in years, I’m actually ready to commit and I can’t wait.”
Josh opens up to Ayo and Ciaran as he says: “I’ve never had a connection that’s gone so well so soon, I’m a happy man, I’m really chuffed.” As their conversations continue, one Islander says: “I’m just waiting for that L bomb to be dropped.”
