My Mum, Your Dad’s Janey calls her son ‘BIGGEST CHALLENGE’ in Roger ROMANCE

Speaking to the Loose Women panel this Friday, My Mum, Your Dad stars Janey and Roger beamed after a year of romance. However, they pointed out one major obstacle.

While their romance has remained strong since their appearance on My Mum, Your Dad, Roger and Janey admitted that someone had held them back in their relationship.

The couple captured the hearts of the nation in Davina McCall’s reality show last year, aired on ITV, and have found a long-lasting romance as they celebrated their first anniversary on the set of Loose Women this Friday, July 26, 2024.

Roger notably admitted to presenter Kaye Adams and co-stars Linda Robson, Katie Piper and Jane Moore that it was “love at first sight” and his daughter Jess was just as impressed.

However, one person in Janey’s entourage wasn’t keen on their relationship as she revealed that 20-year-old William was initially reluctant to welcome Roger in the family.

Speaking about the lad, Janey said that William had become their main challenge to overcome as a couple due to their close bond. Prior to Roger’s arrival in their lives, Janey had been raising her son as a single mother and he’d struggled to forget her past ordeals.

Janey claimed: “William was a bit more hard work, I would say but I think it is because it has just been myself and him for 19-20 years. We haven’t lived with anyone. He is protective over me, he has seen me get hurt.”

When Katie Piper then asked her if her past as a single mother had highlighted her independent streak, Janey agreed. “We had that conversation recently”, she confessed, turning to her partner, “I’m so used to being independent and I still say things all the time.” But with patience, she learned to accept Roger’s help: “it takes time but I’m getting used to it.”

During their Loose Women appearance, the loved-up pair also admitted they were “pretty much” all moved in together, as Roger stated he spent more time in Janey’s Sussex home, commuting from Chesterfield, Derbyshire. And with marriage plans on the cards, the couple could finally end their move in another landmark moment.

Back in March, 2024, during an interview with Tyla Magazine, Roger teased marriage plans, saying: “It’s something I’m aware of because even strangers come up to me if asking I’m getting married!”

“I say, ‘Well, it has only been nine months!’ But it’s certainly not out of the question! The way things are progressing… I think it would be lovely and romantic and, yeah, who knows!”
