Uma has explained her decision to leave the Love Island villa with Wil Anderson

Love Island’s Uma Jammeh has explained why she made the decision to leave the villa.

The twist was aired this Tuesday, July 9, 2024, on ITV2 after a tense Movie Night led the beauty to lock horns with Wil Anderson, who was slammed on social media.

However, with the arrival of new bombshells, Josh and Reuben, hope loomed for Uma as the latter expressed interest in getting to know her – while Wil was trying to repair their relationship after their row.

Reality TV fans were surprised when Uma refused to put her romantic potential with Reuben to the test as she realised that the latest recoupling had left Wil single and dumped from the villa.

Uma tearfully announced her exit in emotional scenes, while viewers agitatedly reacted on X, and the beauty has now broken her silence to explain why she’d decided to put an end to her summer of love in Mallorca.

“I knew where my head and heart was at and it’s with Wil so I wanted to be true to my feelings for him”, she said after her exit. On her future with Wil, she added: “We can’t wait to just do normal things on the outside, stay inside and have a takeaway and go on cute dates. Wil wants to take me to Whitley Bay to see where he’s from, but we’ve also discussed him possibly moving to London so I’m looking forward to the future with him. The only way is up from here.”

When questioned over her connection with the 23-year-old influencer, she then said: “when Wil walked in I instantly felt a connection with him, he was all in for me which I really liked, and it was refreshing off the back of the Ayo situation. Once Wil took me to the other Villa for an overnight stay something clicked and I felt a special spark in that moment which made me realise he was the person for me.

“That’s why I found Casa hard for me as it made me miss Wil more. I feel so comfortable and happy around him. Seeing him waiting for me after Casa was such a special feeling, I know we’ve had our challenges but it’s made us stronger than ever. He’s my blueberry.”

This comes after quantity surveyor Wil was grilled this Sunday, July 7, as he was shown flirting his stay at Casa Amor away during the Love Island Film Festival. But while Uma was clearly at the end of her rope, Wil showed no remorse over his budding connection with Lucy Graybill. Meanwhile, Wil’s change of personality – as viewers were accustomed to a more agreeable side of him – left fans with many troubling thoughts.

“Wil is actually a scary scary man, the switch up”, one of them penned over on X, otherwise known as Twitter. “Wooow Wil is sooooooo disrespectful”, another added while a third agreed: “Wil is a sociopath.” Another Love Island fan fumed: “Wil is so emotionally immature ewwwww.” Since the couple’s exit, fans have issued him with a warning.
