Caitlin Clark has been on and off the news for her outstanding contribution to the sport since her days in Iowa.

Her brilliance on the hardwood made many fans who followed her to the WNBA expect the point guard to achieve bigger feats.

As the 2024 Paris Olympics is approaching, hoop enthusiasts expected her name to be in the women’s basketball team, but shockingly, she wouldn’t even be considered for it.

As Shams Charania of The Athletic reports, Clark will miss the opportunity to be among the talented women’s basketball athletes who will represent Team USA on the Olympic stage this year.

The star players who will reportedly be added to the roster are Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart, Aces’ teammates Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Gray, A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young, Mercury’s Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and Kahleah Copper, Lynx’s Napheesa Collier, Storm’s Jewell Loyd and Sun’s Alyssa Thomas.

Clark has just stepped foot in the league and still has a long way to go, whereas, the above-mentioned players have proved their worth consistently game after game.

Although things were not looking as smooth in the league for the 22-year-old guard, she finally delivered a stellar performance, leading the Fever to an 85-83 victory.

Caitlin Clark Shines to Achieve Historic Feat

Caitlin Clark came under scrutiny for failing to showcase her true potential in the league, but the rookie kept her calm and waited until Friday night to drop a massive attack on the Washington Mystics.

Clark shot seven buckets from the 3-point range etching her name alongside former WNBA player Crystal Robinson as the only rookies to have hit so many shots from downtown in their first season.

That was not all, she even broke franchise champion Tamika Catchings’ 2002 record of threes in a game (6) to become the record holder for the Fever.

The 6-footer guard finished with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the win, joining hands with Sabrina Ionescu as the two players who had a 30-5-5 stat line in their rookie season.

Their third win would boost the Indiana Fever after losing 9 games this season on the flip side, the Mystics have still not tasted success in 11 games.
