The Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever produced fireworks once again. Only this time, Angel Reese and Co. turned the tides late in the game as Caitlin Clark’s Fever fell short of the win despite a record-breaking performance.
The Wintrust Arena roared in joy as the home team got the better of the visitors in the intense 88-87 win. Although there was no conspiracy this time surrounding the meeting of these NCAA rivals, Reese’s post-win celebrations with Chennedy Carter brought back memories of Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Lamar at the latter’s recent concert.
Last night, a clip on X showed Angel Reese recreating the “They not like us” moves with Chennedy Carter. The dance step originally got attention around the globe a few days ago when Kendrick Lamar played the apparent “diss track” of Drake at his concert six times. The feud between the two rappers seems to be ever-growing.
Probably, this is what Angel Reese was hinting at because many basketball fans call her relationship with Caitlin Clark to be that of rivals.
Yesterday’s game was everything that the crowd of 9,872 fans wanted to see. Certainly, the “DAWG” mentalities of both Chennedy Carter and Angel Reese were on full display as they kept their charges up until the final buzzer. Here is how the Sky left the visiting Indiana Fever in dust on their home turf.
Angel Reese outclasses the Fever
Continuing her exemplary displays, the Chi-Town Barbie extended her standing rookie record to 8 consecutive double-doubles.
She put up 25 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the field and 9 of 11 from the charity stripe.
She also added 16 rebounds in her win over her arch-nemesis Caitlin Clark.
At the same time, Chennedy Carter also had a brilliant outing. She made 23 points on 8 of 12 field goals and 6 of 8 free throws.
The point guard also had 5 assists and picked 2 defensive boards. Another standout player in the Sky roster was the South Carolina alum and the third overall pick Kamilla Cardoso.
She registered a double-double as well with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Surprisingly, Indiana did a great job with Marina Mabrey as they kept the brilliant shooter at just 6 points on 2 of 14 shooting.
Although Chicago was missing Elizabeth Williams for yet another game, the rest of the squad stood up to defend their home. Moreover, Angel Reese’s growing chemistry with Chennedy Carter is also a refreshing sight in the rivalry narrative surrounding the rookie and Caitlin Clark.
